Request a license

After you have decided which license model to use, you need to license your copy of MLDesigner.

To do this, log in to your account on mldesigner.com, go to the support area, and choose License Request in the menu on the left. You will be presented with the license request form. Fill in your personal details, if they are not already filled in. Next you need to provide details for the license.

  1. Select the Type of License, you can choose between Evaluation License, University License, or Commercial License.
  2. Select MLDesigner as Product.
  3. The current version should be automatically selected after choosing the Product. You only need to modify this value, if you want to license an older version of MLDesigner.
  4. Enter the details of the machine on which the license server is supposed to run. For a node-locked license, this is the workstation on which you are running MLDesigner. For a floating license, this is a machine in your network to which the workstations running MLDesigner can connect.
  5. If you need to provide additional information, you can enter a Comment.

Obtaining Hostname and HostID for your machine

Node-locked license

In order to determine the HostID for your machine, you first need to install MLDesigner. After the installation has finished successfully, go to the installation directory (by default %SYSTEMDRIVE%\MLDesign\MLDesigner) and run mldhostinfo. This will show the MLDesigner Host Information dialog, which provides the necessary information for your machine.

Floating license

In order to determine the HostID for a machine that is not running MLDesigner, you need to download the FLEXnet Licensing Essentials from our website, and execute mldhostid on a command line.
